Jamar Jones, 35, of Atlantic City, was arrested at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. He was wanted in the Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 killing of Luis Rosa-Rodriguez.
Jones tried to avoid arrest by jumping out of a third-floor window at the School House Apartments on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. He suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Rosa-Rodriguez died in a shooting on the unit block of South Florida Avenue in Atlantic City. Investigators determined Jones was the person who shot and killed Rosa-Rodriguez.
Jones was charged on Monday, Dec. 11 with murder, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, possession of a handgun without a permit to carry, and possession of a firearm by a certain person. Jones was a fugitive until his arrest.
